SO I DEMAND RESPECT. It looks that in the last times "cosplay" becomes a synonymous of "stereotyped and socially accepted type of caucasian body and face".
No one really pointed that to me, but I feel very offended as a cosplayer, but a young woman first, when I see VERY RUDE comments on cosplayers. The worst case is the Facebook page of Elo Hell. Go there for the extreme example of HUMAN STUPIDITY.
Do you know? COSPLAYERS AREN'T PAYED (except few cases) FOR MAKING THEIR OUTFITS! Yes, we actually do sacrifices, we study, we work, we put money and time in a thing we like JUST BECAUSE WE LIKE IT. We aren't trying to win a competition.
WE ARE NORMAL PEOPLE. We are white, black, Yellow, teenies, adults, we have achne, we have differents facial types. AND NO, I'm not sorry if my mouth is so big, if my nose got a hump, if my breast are so small you can't even point them out, if I got stretches on my legs and my stomach is not flat. I'm not sorry. I'm not sorry because when I cosplay I HAVE SO MUCH FUN YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW, I put hard work and dedication in all the things I do.
So, don't criticize me. Don't insult me. It hurts, even if they are just comments of unknown people. Reading "lol u r horrible" "u look like a man" "u are 2 fat 2 cosplay" (what does this even mean, anyway. A lot of beautiful people are fat, yes FAT, we don't have to be scared of this word) "this sucks" "this is shit" "no boobs no cosplay" "you can't cosplay with a body like this" "who is dis bitch". Coming back home from an Amazing day and reading that comments really make me sad. Have respect of a girl, of a woman who can be your sister or your friend (how should you feel if someone tell your sister she's fucking ugly?).
Cosplay doesn't mean we have to reach perfection. Cosplay mean fun. When I get into some costume, I try so hard being beautiful. I'm a very insecure girl. I don't like myself, as many as other people do. It's common.
When I cosplay i feel beautiful. You don't have to offend me if you don't like my body or my face, because I'M NOT COSPLAYNG FOR REALIZING YOUR SEXUAL FANTASIES, ok? Don't look at cosplay pics if you only criticize them. We put a lot of effort in our work, it's terrible when people criticize us in A BAD WAY (NOT constructive criticism, only insults and stupid comments). having my photos on the internet doesn't mean you can insult me ("hey, it's the internet, calm down" STUPID EXCUSE).
Many cosplayers know ho to deal with it, but seeing all of those stupid comments popping out make me angry and sad.
*terrible english, so sorry! I try but I'm still learning*
